US-Qatar Business Council President, Ambassador Patrick N. Theros (Ret.), will be the honorary guest speaker later this month at an event to be held in Detroit, Michigan at Automation Alley.
The event, “Meet Qatar,” will open with Ambassador Theros speaking to representatives from various Michigan corporations about the more than $180 billion worth of available business for Michigan-based firms in the country of Qatar. Ambassador Theros will be acknowledging the importance of Qatar to American business interests and highlighting a wide range of business opportunities for Michigan companies in Qatar
Qatar plans to invest an estimated $150 billion in infrastructure projects between now and the World Cup in 2022, offering an abundance of opportunities for US firms. Approximately $20 billion of this development will be channeled into roads, bridges, wastewater treatment, and related services that fall under the review of Qatar’s Public Works Authority.
Ambassador Theros will be returning to his home state of Michigan from Washington, D.C. where he is the President of the US-Qatar Business Council. For three years (1995-1998), Ambassador Theros served as the Ambassador to Qatar and in March of 2000, he was appointed to his current position.
The “Meet Qatar,” event will be held on Thursday, April 26th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Atrium Conference Center at Automation Alley. US-Qatar Business Council member, PAT Engineering and its affiliate PAT USA, Inc. – which has its Middle Eastern headquarters in Qatar and its North American headquarters in Michigan – will be hosting this highly anticipated event.
